Women’s Cricket in San Jose a Hit!

San Jose, California - The inaugural Pacific Coast Women's Invitational Cricket Tournament was held Jun 27 and 28 in San Jose, California. Two teams came together to participate in the first-ever inter-league cricket tournament held in the USA for women. They played Twenty20 matches both Saturday and Sunday.

The guest team, Chargers, came down from the Seattle area to meet the local Firebirds in the heat. Even though the Chargers may not have been accustomed to the heat, they were the more experienced team which proved to be key in the outcome.

Beaverton Cricket Badshahs prep for tournament

Beaverton, Oregon -- With a roster large enough for at least two full teams, the Beaverton Cricket Badshahs completed their 25th contest with West and East squads battling head-to-head on June 26. The team has its sights set on its tournament debut in Oregon, later in August.

It was at the second field in Brooklyn dedicated only to cricket, only the second match played on the field, and the second 20/20 game last Sunday to end in a close and thrilling finish (after India lost to England) and, in its second year, it was the finals of the New York City Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) Cricket.
