Profile:

The Nassau New York Cricket Association (NNYCA) came into existence April 1997 and has already become a model organization for cricket development in the New York Region and the United States of America.

Although the league has been in existence for just a few years, the member clubs averaged well over 12 years playing the sport. Founding members United Sports Club and Hempstead Cricket Club playing for more than 20 years each.

The Nassau Cricket Association consists of 10 cricket clubs and they play mainly in Bay Park, East Rockaway in Nassau County, Eisenhower Park in Nassau County and Flushing Meadow Park and Baisley Park in Queens. Competitions usually run from April to October. The facilities are excellent for the sport and spectators to attend with adequate seating and parking.

The strength of the Nassau Cricket Association is the administrators understanding of cricket development and the youths associated with the organization. From its inception the association has placed a strong emphasis on the younger players and continues to do so successfully each year after.

The league’s junior captain, Kevin Ramsaroop, was born in the United States of America and has developed all of his skills for the game right here in the USA. Another top prospect, Sunil Singh of United Sports Club, has played most of his cricket in the United States and is expected to represent the US National Team in years to come.

The veterans have also done their part in the development of the sport. Coach Rampersad with a vast amount of knowledge for the game has coached and managed nationally in Trinidad and Tobago. Babu Sankar once captained the West Indies under 19 cricket team. Suresh Singh represented the USA national team. And the list of accomplishment goes on and on . . .

In addition, the President of the Nassau Cricket Association, is also the Chairman - Council of League Presidents for the United States of America Cricket Association. A tremendous accomplishment for a cricket league only four years in exsitence.
